NOVATRUM 3D scan prototype and 3D print digital development workflow

Purpose

3D scanning, digital measurement and prototype development can help turn an existing part, damaged sample, dimensional reference or new idea into a testable automotive component. This process is useful when fitment, shape, clearance and installation detail need to be checked before final production.

3D Printing Direction

Depending on the application, NOVATRUM may use engineering polymer printing, nylon-based processes, resin prototypes, fiber-reinforced materials or selected metal additive manufacturing. The final method depends on the intended use, surface requirement, quantity, durability and cost target.

When This Process Is Suitable

This process is most suitable for fitment prototypes, low-volume specialist parts, replacement-style components, brackets, trim-related parts and applications where traditional tooling is not yet justified.
